The Gang

Taking the Metra into Chicago
The first weekend back at school was crazy! It started on Friday night with a all-school event in the Rec center with lots of games and free Oberweis ice cream, for those who are from Minnesota Oberweis is...well you would have to ask someone from Illinois, because I have no idea! All I know is that it is super yummy! The next morning I got up at 5:15am to get on the bus to leave for my first indoor college track meet at Whitewater University in Wisconsin. Although I did not make it to finals or have a very good race, it was a great first college meet experience. Before the meet everyone got a new shirt, sweatshirt, and today we all got new duffle bags with our names on it. I am not gonna lie, I love all the free swag!
After the meet and a big snowfall, Jessie, Rachel, and Effie arrived Olivet to visit Sarah and I. Sunday we explored Chicago. Jessie and Effie had never really been so we...well I will just show you through our pictures...

Back to the Bourb

Well, I am back in the Bourb. After an amazing month off of break, I am back at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, also known as the Bourb. I had a fantastic break between hanging out with this guy (see picture right) and celebrating two years of dating, hanging out with family and friends, and my oldest sister getting married, I was very busy!
First off, Zach took me on a surprise date! He wouldn't tell me what we were doing only to dress warm. He picked me out and we went out to Hibachi, which was so yummy, then he surprised me and we went to the Depot in downtown Minneapolis, and went ice skating! It was so fun and a perfect way to celebrate dating for two years.  We happen to have this crazy 6th sense and without planning it or trying, we often end up matching or having coordinating outfits. It is meant to be I guess!
On January 4, 2014, my oldest sister, Megan, married the man of her dreams, Andrew. She wore my grandma's wedding dress, which was 50 years old! She looked beautiful and it was such a fun wedding! I, of course, was a bridesmaid, along with my two other sisters, two of Andrew's sisters, and Megan's best friend. At the reception, Megan changed into her own dress to dance in. Andrew surprised Megan for their honeymoon. He did not tell her where they were going until the day they left. All she knew is that she needed her passport and it was tropical! M & A ended up going to the Virgin Islands/St. Johns area! After the wedding and a few days of recuperating, things started getting a bit more normal around the house. In fact, after two days my mom was able to have a normal conversation and not get distracted by thoughts of the wedding! Following the wedding, I was able to catch up with friends and relax a bit. Now I am back to school, loving seeing my friends, and enjoying all almost all of my classes (My biology professors are well...something else...).

I will try to blog more this spring, but between 17 credits and indoor track competitive season starting, I do not know how much blogging I will actually get done!
